Growing up in the 80’s, I was an addict to the Apter mags. I would buy The Wrestler and Inside Wrestling on a semi-regular basis as a supplement to my subscription to Pro Wrestling Illustrated. One of the things I remember most is reading about these “classic battles” that would take place in non-WWF areas.
One of the greatest tag teams to ever compete in Japan, so I’ve always heard, was the tandem of Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy and Stan “The Lariat” Hansen. I had seen a little bit of the Freebirds in the 80’s and knew that Hansen was (briefly) the AWA world champion, but I had never seen their work as a team.
This is, quite literally, one of the best non-stop brawls I’ve ever seen. I mean, I’ve seen some wild and crazy things take place over the years (ECW being a prime example), but these four men go at each other and move at a pace you don’t normally see. It’s especially impressive for Gordy and Hansen, considering their size.
So if you’ve got a few minutes and want to see an impressive brawl, take a look below. This is considered one of the classic tag team encounters in All Japan history. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
