NXT: TakeOver London – REVIEW & ANALYSIS

NXT TakeOver LondonAfter last weekend’s fantastic TLC pay-per-view, I think it’ll be difficult for NXT to live up to the standard that’s been set by the WWE roster. But with a potentially hot London crowd and some great performers scheduled, this could be yet another feather in the NXT cap of incredible live TakeOver events in 2015.

Let’s see how things went…

Asuka vs EmmaAsuka vs Emma

AsukaI can’t tell you how impressed I am with Asuka. She’s certainly not a “classic beauty” in terms of what a WWE Diva normally looks like, but there is something about the way she carries herself that I find hot as hell. Add to that sexiness an extremely unique style and some incredible in-ring ability, and I think you’re got the total package with her. She’s absolutely a future NXT Women’s champion and I can see her dominating the main roster, as well.

Emma & DanaEmma is still a work-in-progress, in my opinion. She’s been looking to feel comfortable in a heel persona for months now and only now seems to look like it’s a natural thing for her. She’s an incredible talented and beautiful woman, but you can tell that playing the heel isn’t something she’s great at yet. Once she can fully integrate the personality and gimmick to her character, she’ll be called back-up to the main roster because she’s got the talent and deserves to be there again.

I think having Dana Brooke yelling out at ringside was a good thing because she’s definitely a future star and needs to get more interaction experience under her belt because, right now, she’s a one-trick flexing pony. The more personality she can display the better.

Asuka v EmmaThe match itself was a really good way to kick NXT TakeOver off. The crowd was super into Asuka and both women were able to put on a great back-n-forth match. I thought that the match’s backstage agent had Asuka sell too much for Emma at first, but as the match went on it really made each of her comebacks pop the crowd more and more. I loved that when I thought this would end like a “normal televised match” after the big babyface comeback, the match just continued on and built more momentum.

I genuinely popped TWICE for the big false submission finish and the eventual 3-count. Having Asuka win was the right booking decision to make, but the match itself made Emma look REALLY strong…so this, really, was the perfectly booked match. A hot crowd certainly didn’t hurt.

Dash & Dawson vs Enzo Amore & Colin CassadyDash & Dawson vs Colin Cassady & Enzo Amore (NXT tag title match)

Enzo, Carmella, & CassRight out of the gate, you have to respect the hell out of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady for how they’ve grown as a team in NXT over the past couple of years. They are, without a doubt, the most popular NXT creation (superstars like Sami Zayn and Finn Bálor were globally popular before NXT). Why these two haven’t been called-up to the main roster yet is beyond me. Hell…you only need to see how globally popular they are right now and you should know just what you can have on RAW and Smackdown. As expected, Enzo’s mic work was fantastic before the match. These guys are like the New Age Outlaws 2.0.

And I could on all day about Carmella‘s beauty and potential, but I’ll save that for another day.

Dash & DawsonDash & Dawson have been one of my favourite tag teams for a few months now. They are throwback wrestlers that remind me of Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard and The Midnight Express. If they were facing any other tag team on the roster, I’d probably suggest they go over in this match to help put them over as a dominant tag team. As it stands, though, I really think the time has come for Enzo & Big Cass to win the big one.

Enzo vs D&DThe NXT Universe was absolutely incredible for this match. The chants for Enzo and Big Cass were entertaining as hell and helped the match immensely because, for the most part, it went as you’d have expect with Enzo playing the babyface in peril (the dude is almost Ricky Morton-esque with his “selling for heat” skills). The match itself was good, so I don’t want to say that having a “normal” Enzo & Cass match is bad.

Do I agree with the finish? Well…as much as it would be nice to see the popular team finally win the belts, I don’t have an issue with how the heels retained their championships. The finish was well booked and extremely well executed by both teams, which made for a realistic result.

Apollo Crews vs Baron CorbinApollo Crews vs Baron Corbin

BaronI’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I don’t see the big deal with Baron Corbin. He’s got a nice entrance and he can stare at the crowd, I guess…but I don’t see “charisma” when I watch him. I see potential, but a lot of it is unrealized at this point. I just don’t think he’s developing as fast as WWE wants him to or as fast as HE thinks he is. I could be wrong, but I just think he needs a lot more polish before he can shine. And some hair plugs wouldn’t hurt.

ApolloApollo Crews just has “it”. Size, speed, agility, ability, and charisma to make a total package performer. I truly believe this man will be WWE champion at some point within the next decade. The guy just has it all. His mic skills aren’t WWE-ready yet, but he’s better than 90% of the NXT roster on the stick so he’s definitely well on his way.

I wasn’t expecting a lot from this match, if I can be honest. I think it lived up to my expectations. One thing I enjoyed was Corbin’s attempting to smack talk during the match. It’s not nearly as witty as Kevin Owens (who is a master) and just comes off as amateurish in its delivery. The other thing I don’t think he realizes is that his heat isn’t “we hate you” heel heat, but rather “we think you can’t wrestle” Eva Marie heat. When you’ve lost the respect of the NXT Universe, there is little you can do but roll with it and assume any heat is good heat (it’s not).

Apollo vs CorbinNot sure it’s ever a good sign to have your live crowd provide a “BotchaMania” chant during your match, but both Crews and Corbin appeared to be blown up halfway through the match-up…resulting in more than one spot looking sloppy and messy.

I gotta say…the finish was completely shocking. To have Crews lose cleanly by pinfall totally took me by surprise. That’s gotta be a good thing, though. I don’t like a predictable match or predictable finishes, so I can’t take anything away from the match because “the wrong guy won”. Credit where credit is due…they gave me a surprise finish out of nowhere.

Bayley vs Nia JaxBayley vs Nia Jax

BayleyI will be the first to admit that while I completely respect the ability of Bayley, I don’t understand the appeal. I know I’m not the desired core audience for Bayley, but I’m constantly shocked to see the crowds go insane for this girl. She is one of the most popular superstars in ALL of WWE, in spite of her awkwardness in public and inability to deliver a solid promo of any kind. Because of that, I absolutely respect the hell out of her for what she has been able to accomplish and the connection with the WWE Universe that she has been able to make at this point in her career.

NiaWhile I really loved the new entrance gear for Nia Jax, I’m not sold on her as a viable in-ring performer yet. I think there is a lot of potential there, don’t get me wrong. But for years WWE has looked for a larger woman who could wrestle the smaller women, and for various reasons Amazing Kong and Jessicka Havok (two women who can run circles around Jax) haven’t worked out. I just don’t know if hot-shotting Jax to a live title match is a smart idea.

Jax vs BayleyHaving said all that, after watching the match, I can’t lie…Jax has impressed me. Hell…she’s better inside of the ring than Eva Marie. Though Jax still has a TON of work to do, Bayley helped carry her to a more-than-passable match with a live (and potentially VERY hostile) crowd. The match was booked to play to Jax’s strengths and helped to hide her weaknesses. While not one of those incredible back-and-forth battles we’ve become used to, it was a dominating performance by the heel where the babyface-in-peril inspired the crowd with a last-ditch effort to win after escaping defeat multiple times.

Insane Bayley crowdI have to be completely honest…I thought that Jax was going to beat Bayley. I mean…wow. And the London crowd was so into it, they got on their feet…yes, literally a standing ovation…at the MERE THOUGHT that Bayley could make Jax tap out (pictured, right). After multiple attempts, it finally happened and the crowd went nuts. I mean, this was a great finish that the crowd ate up. Props to both women for an extremely believable match that had the crowd (and yes…me, too) cheering for the finish.

Finn Balor vs Samoa JoeFinn Bálor vs Samoa Joe for NXT Championship

Samoa Joe 4Where I am a new fan to the skills of “The Demon”, I’ve been a fan of Samoa Joe for well over a decade. To see him on NXT in a main event match on a live televised event gives me chills. The promo skills alone are better than 90% of the MAIN roster. Add to that his in-ring skills and you’ve got somebody who might be happy in NXT, but could do really well on the main roster, too.

FinnFinn Bálor is quite the spectacle. He’s unique and original and has the “sports entertainment” aspect already wrapped up. Some people tink he gets boring once he’s inside of the ring, but I believe his in-ring abilities are spectacular. If I could compare him to anybody, it would be Jeff Hardy…another “spectacle” who couldn’t really promo and wasn’t hugely muscular but still captured the imagination of the WWE Universe.

As much as I’m a fan of Bálor (and I loved his Demon paint/persona for the show), I’m actually hoping Joe wins the title in this match. Demon 3Demon 2 Demon 1

After watching the match, anybody backstage should be able to see the differences between someone like Samoa Joe and someone like Baron Corbin. The abilities that he provides is second to NONE…he can wrestle, he can brawl, he can fly, and he carries himself with such an “at-ease swagger” that the ring seems like second nature to him. Some people carry themselves a certain way as in-ring performers; others don’t have to because they just HAVE IT. Joe has it in spades (and yes, so does Bálor).Finn vs Joe

The main event was awesome and fully endorsed both men as being the future of NXT (and WWE, should those in power decide to allow it to happen). I honestly thought Joe might have a shot at winning, but I’m certainly not unhappy with how Bálor pinned Joe to win. Just a fantastic ferocious battle that has helped to cap off an amazing year for NXT. And can I say that the little touches of having doctors look at BOTH Joe and Bálor was just a bit of genius…whether it was a work or not. It just really helped make the match appear that much more hellacious.

I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings for the brand.

RAW Thoughts

Hot on the heels of TLC, how will WWE respond with RAW? I’m hoping for a good show tonight with some new storylines that actually intrigue me. Let’s see how it goes…

Stephanie McMahonI’m beginning to tire of Stephanie McMahon‘s act. It was fun for awhile, but the whole “Boss Bitch” act is stale. She drove me nuts at the end of TLC and she was extremely predictable last night. Roman Reigns did a decent job, but to not stop her from slapping him after three or four slaps was just Stephanie getting her rocks off to “get over”. That doesn’t do anything for Roman but make him look weight. He doesn’t have to fight back or anything…but at least grab her arm and prevent another slap. Damn, son…have some balls and defend yourself, Reigns…she bitch-slapped the shit out of you EIGHT times. Just look at your damn face!!Roman's face

Kevin Owens is the manThe Kevin Owens attack on Dean Ambrose was something I don’t remember seeing in awhile. How many times has a defeated heel champ attacked the new champ during a match to make a statement? I don’t remember, but it was perfectly executed by Owens…who continues to display reasons why he deserves to be in the spotlight. He decimated both Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler (admittedly after they had wrestled a great match for 15+ minutes) and stood tall in the end. Those who continue to complain about his booking really don’t see the bigger picture. Owens is a bona fide superstar.

ECW OriginalsIt was awesome to see “Bully Ray” do a backstage promo with the “ECW Originals”. It was a great promo, actually…with all four men getting a pop for making an ECW/Philadelphia reference. But I’m sure most casual WWE fans were shocked to see Bubba Ray Dudley looking like a legit bad-ass in his street clothes, which is something TNA viewers remember well during Dudley’s awesome heel title reign as the company’s champion. I still see potential for a revamped Bubba Ray doing a singles run a la Bradshaw turning into JBL…but I’m sure it won’t happen. I can still dream, though.

Bolieve - Be preparedI know that I can’t be the only member of the WWE Universe who was praying for Bo Dallas to get a victory last night. I completely BOlieve in Dallas and his gimmick. He is incredibly talented and I still love his gimmick. It’s just a damn shame that Vince thinks so little of him that he’d rather stop the match and go to commercial than let him wrestle on RAW. That, my friends, says all you need to know about his placement in the company.

Vince McMahonThe Vince McMahon / Roman Reigns / Sheamus segment, as expected, dragged on. Poor Vince looks incredibly old and needs to stop trying to act like a bad-ass (much like his daughter). He can curse and try to intimidate people all he wants, but it’s simply not realistic at this point. The act, much like the act of Stephanie, is old and stale. The ONLY saving grace from the segment was the final part where Vince gave Reigns the ultimatum of either becoming WWE champion or get fired. I was left hoping that WWE would hot-shot the title change in order to (a) create some buzz about the show and (b) show the world that anything can happen on RAW. And let’s face it…Roman Reigns has earned the title after putting up with bullshit for the past year. Will it happen? I don’t know…I’ve come to greatly distrust WWE when it comes to giving the fans what they want lately.

While it may not result in the best matches in the world, I’m happy to see something happening between Neville and The Miz. Neville NEEDS a feud that he can win against somebody with some clout to his name. Like it or not, Miz is one of the most successful superstars of the past decade, so if Neville can win a feud against him then he’s off to the next step en route to a title feud of some kind.

Tyler Breeze & Summer Rae 2On the flip side of things, I can’t even begin to tell you how disappointed I am at how WWE has completely fucked Tyler Breeze since his call-up from NXT. I’ve seen him win two matches so far and he lost all of the rest. I mean, what the hell is going on? Why did you even bring him up?? Much like Bo Dallas and Adam Rose, WWE seems to have a really difficult time trying to bring up NXT talent in a way that works…so now ALL of them look like jobbers to the WWE Universe. There are exceptions to the rule, obviously (i.e. the Shield, Kevin Owens, Neville), but there seem to be more misses than hits lately…and I do NOT blame the talent.

Wyatt FamilyHere’s a question…why do we need ECW guys to do a match like this? Can’t we have the occasional extreme match with current WWE guys? Don’t get me wrong…this was a fun-ass match that the crowd seemed to really love. But wouldn’t they love this type of match if it were the Wyatt Family taking on the League of Nations or even Roman & Friends? It’s not like we need to have this type of match every week…but why do we need to bring in Rhyno and Tommy Dreamer for this? Somebody responded to my question on this on Twitter with “ratings”…but that’s not the point I’m making. The point is that they don’t do a match like this with anyone on the current roster, then wonder why they can’t seem to make new stars.

Don’t get me wrong…this was a HELLA fun match and I have no complaints about the efforts of all 8 participants. I’d just like to see younger talent get the shine.

New Day extend olive branchI had flashbacks to the day Edge & Christian, the Hardy Boyz, and the Dudley Boyz all met inside the ring to give each other some mutual respect when the New Day did pretty much the same thing with the Uso’s and the Lucha Dragons. I don’t know what WWE Creative thought was going to happen in the end, but the live crowd did NOT appreciate the Usos & the Lucha Dragons attacking New Day for simply bragging about winning. They said that everything they said was legit, yet just because they had some fun afterwards they got attacked…and the crowd responded in kind. The announcers tried to put it over as “they rubbed it in their faces and deserve this”, but at least JBL spoke the truth. THIS is why WWE is out of touch right now…unless they plan on turning both babyface teams heel while turning New Day full-on babyface. Just sloppy writing that could come back to bite them with live crowds down the road. New Day

Becky Lynch vs CharlotteI like what they’re doing with Ric Flair, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch. My ONLY hope is that this is a slow-burn feud that culminates in a WrestleMania title match. I know a ton of people are wanting to see Charlotte vs Sasha Banks, but there’s no need to rush that match yet on the main roster (just like Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens). In another year or two, that match will be a HUGE draw. As it stands, it’s not quite there. However, watching Lynch & Charlotte going through this friendship angle that results in Lynch defeating Charlotte at Mania for the title is a big-time storyline that can garner a ton of interest as long as they take their time and slow burn it over the next couple of months.

Roman ReignsI really wasn’t expecting a title change last night in the main event. I thought that, once the “Roman Reigns has to win or he’s fired” stipulation was in place, that he’d get screwed one more time and have to weasel his way back for the Royal Rumble. But low and behold, he FINALLY won the WWE title by defeating Sheamus. Was it “hot-shot booking”? Sure, but it was the right decision to make. On top of that, the match itself was booked PERFECTLY. With Vince McMahon himself trying to screw Reigns out of the title, it helped to FINALLY turn the crowd into Roman’s favour.

I think I said it best on Twitter last night…

After months and months of WWE ASSUMING that they could book Reigns to be a sympathetic underdog, last night they ACTUALLY booked him as a sympathetic underdog and made it believable. Because of that, the crowd was ready for him to finally overcome the odds and win it all. Reigns wins

He might get booed on future events as champion, but damn…he EARNED this WWE title win. I’ll cheer him out of respect alone. Fuck the haters.

And I’ll also say that this was a really good episode of RAW. Will we get this every week going forward? No…probably not. But hell…let’s take what we can get.

But what are YOUR thoughts? Sound off in a comment below or via social media and let me know!

WWE TLC 2015 – Predictions

TLC PredictionsWith ratings collapsing and the WWE Universe in a tizzy about current booking decisions, tonight’s TLC PPV is a very intriguing one. Will WWE truly set new creative wheels in motion or will they continue to run around in creative circles? It’s hard to say, but this is what I think will happen tonight…

TLC_8-manTeam Extreme vs The Wyatt Family

This is a match that should only be designed for one thing: putting the Wyatt Family over. Quite frankly, everybody and their dog knows that the Wyatt’s lose the big matches on PPV. They should be the dominant faction in WWE right now, destroying everybody in their path. Bray Wyatt is supposed to be “The Face Of Fear“, yet I don’t see why anybody is afraid of him because he can’t win anything.

There is ZERO reason to put over the Dudleyz, Dreamer, and Rhyno in this situation. None of them are viable contenders for anything at this point and, as they would probably admit, they are really around to put over the younger talent. I’m sure they’ll put up a good fight, but in the end I can’t see any creative reason whatsoever for them to win this match.

WINNER: Even in this WWE world of 50/50 booking, it would only make the most sense to see total decimation and a 4-0 table elimination for the Wyatt Family, but I’m sure it will be far more even in the end. But the Wyatt’s NEED to win this.

Ryback vs RusevRyback vs Rusev

Ugh…I dislike Ryback so immensely that I don’t even want to predict this match. Having said that, I think that Rusev and Lana are getting back on track with their push, as odd as it might be to see them making out every two seconds. Rusev is out for revenge and Ryback is (seemingly) back to mid-card status, so this realistically should mean a victory for the Bulgarian Brute. Of course, knowing WWE…they could easily over-book this match and have Lana be the reason why Rusev loses.

WINNER: With an act that legitimately has the potential to be in the WWE  title picture in 2016, I really think this should be a win for Rusev…by hook or by crook.

Charlotte vs Paige

Charlotte (with Ric Flair) vs Paige

Divas Championship Match

I don’t understand why this is even taking place. Paige lost at the last PPV. Paige then lost a rematch on RAW. Why are they having another match? And how in the hell is Paige go from saying an incredibly offensive line about Charlotte‘s dead brother one week to being a cheered babyface the next? And why are they having Charlotte slowly turn heel with the help of her father, Ric Flair? I mean, are there not enough heels on the women’s side of things? Will Becky Lynch get involved and somehow accidentally cost Charlotte the match? Will that cement the heel turn? Why should I even care anymore?

WINNER: Ummmm…Paige by either DQ or count-out. I have a bad feeling that WWE will over-book and have either Flair or Becky get involved and cost Charlotte the match, but NOT the title.

Del Rio vs SwaggerAlberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger

United States championship match

If Del Rio can get an entertaining match out of Swagger, I’ll be very impressed. As it stands, this should realistically be a squash.

WINNER: Alberto Del Rio

TLC - tag title matchLucha Dragons vs New Day vs Usos

WWE Tag Team Championship Match

Out of everything on the card, this match legitimately has the chance to steal the show if given enough time. It should be a fast-paced combination of high flying moves and solid in-ring action. My fear, though, is that the backstage agent will try to put in more “spots” than actual wrestling…making for a solid but unspectacular match with a few high spots that LOOK like pre-planned spots, instead of high spots that genuinely pop the crowd. It won’t suck, but I think at the end of the day it will be one of those “it could’ve been better” matches.

WINNER: Just because their act is FAR from stale…The New Day will continue to reign supreme.

Kevin Owens vs Dean AmbroseKevin Owens vs Dean Ambrose

Intercontinental Championship Match

I feel bad for these two in the sense that the match has taken a huge backseat to whatever Ambrose has been doing in the main event scene with Roman Reigns against the League of Nations. This has been an afterthought since it was initially announced. Their initial match last month at Survivor Series was pretty good, so this match should be no different In fact, I think this will end up being the match of the night. Because Ambrose has other things going on (and because the feud should extend to the Royal Rumble), I don’t think I see a definitely finish here.

WINNER: I think they want to put Ambrose over strong heading into the Rumble, but they don’t want to hurt Owens, either. As such, I see Owens walking out after 15-20 minutes of action…leaving Ambrose as the winner and Owens as still the champion. I hope I’m wrong because I would much rather see Owens pin Ambrose outright, but I just don’t think that’s going to happen.

Sheamus vs Roman ReignsSheamus vs Roman Reigns

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

Realistically speaking, this match shouldn’t even be taking place. There is no reason why Sheamus should be the champion at this point. Hell…he shouldn’t even have been the one to win the Money in the Bank briefcase to begin with. Regardless, it is what it is and this is your main event for TLC. I think the match itself should be great, but I’m doubtful that the PPV crowd will have much heat for this match. In fact, don’t be surprised to hear loud boos for BOTH competitors.

I see lots of interference in this one, from the League of Nations to “Roman’s Friends” to Triple H himself, resulting in…

WINNER: Sheamus remaining your WWE World Heavyweight Champion and setting-up the rematch at the Royal Rumble.

All-in-all, I think this is a pretty weak card. I do not have high hopes for TLC and I really hope I’m wrong in feeling that way. I guess we’ll all find out soon enough.

RAW Thoughts

I’ve read that WWE Creative has been taken to task over the past week and that we should expect to see some new and exciting storylines in the coming weeks. I can only imagine how things will start tonight.

Dudleys WWE TNA

16 man elimination tag matchListen, I’m all about trying something new and I’m also a fan of groups and/or factions…especially when they’re done organically and with purpose. But last night’s show kicked off with the League of Nations (which I think has potential over the long haul), the Wyatt Family (which only has two legitimate superstars out of the four members), “Team Extreme” (c’mon…do we REALLY need another revival of ECW after 15 years??), and “Roman & Friends” getting together in a Fatal Clusterfuck Fourway. It was just thrown together and meant to pop a rating with the number of superstars in the ring at the same time wrestling each other.

The opening match reeked of desperation, even though it involved two different feuds going into TLC this Sunday. I mean, really…a 16-man match? It’s like writers threw shit against the wall and Vince said it was a great idea so they went ahead. At this point, I have zero desire to watch Sheamus defend his title against Roman Reigns because they haven’t built-up the match that much other than Sheamus having a t-shirt to wear. Yes, Reigns pinned Sheamus to win the match, but that usually means that Sheamus will end up walking out of TLC this Sunday still champion. WWE is very predictable this way…and they wonder why fans stop watching.

I don’t know why they are doing a Stardust vs Titus O’Neil feud, but hey…it’s new and different and something for two guys in the mid-card. People complain about how WWE doesn’t really do much for the “non-stars”, but hey…at least this is a storyline for two guys Creative has nothing for. It might be silly and dumb and something most don’t care about, but you can’t say WWE isn’t at least giving them SOMETHING to do.

Tyler Breeze & Summer Rae 1I can’t say enough good things about the pairing of Tyler Breeze & Summer Rae. They are perfect for each other and I see a TON of potential with them if WWE uses them properly. I mean, how many wrestler/valet combos did we have during the 1980’s that were extremely successful? Breeze has already proven that he can wrestle, he can promo, and he’s got a great gimmick. Let Summer give him the occasional “helping hand” to win matches against top babyfaces and you’ve created a new heel superstar! It’s not rocket science.

Ambrose watches Owens vs ZigglerI’m all about putting a Dolph Ziggler vs Kevin Owens match on RAW. The problem I have is that I know 100% that Owens isn’t going to lose to Ziggler because he’s scheduled to defend the IC belt on Sunday in a separate storyline. The match, as you would expect, was excellent. Owens kicked the snot out of Ziggler and Ziggler almost pulled off the win in the end. But ultimately, Ziggler was a side-note and Dean Ambrose waltzed his way to ringside to “promote” his match against Owens at TLC for the IC title. I mean, Ambrose throwing popcorn and soda on Owens is suddenly going to “create” interest in their match?? No, because Ambrose is heavily involved in a completely different storyline right now with Roman Reigns & the League of Nations.

I can’t even begin to tell you how ridiculously annoying this “UNITY!!!” nonsense is with Team B.A.D. Why in the blue hell are they messing with what worked in NXT?? Nobody cares about Naomi…they care about Sasha Banks. WWE is trying to push them as a unit and people are NOT going to react kindly. I mean, I totally get that they gave the pinfall to Naomi in an attempt to get her over, but I know I’m not alone in thinking that it simply won’t work.

And why in the fuck are Team Bella booked as babyfaces this week?  #CONTINUITY

New Day 1One of the few matches I’m really looking forward to at TLC on Sunday is the tag team title match. Given enough time, the New Day vs Usos vs Lucha Dragons ladder match could steal the show. It’s really all a matter of how they’re being booked, because New Day has done everything they could to pump the match up with their promos. Out of everything on the show last night, I think they really set-up the tag match best.

I’m completely baffled by the Miz TV segment from last night. BAFFLED.

Rusev & Lana 3I’m all about Rusev & Lana being back together and Lana being heel again. I have ZERO issue with that because I loved them both as heels. I’m not sure if kissing every two seconds is going to make people boo them more or not. Perhaps…but if this new “kissing couple” gimmick helps get Rusev motivated during matches to turn it up a notch and crush people? I’m all for it. I’m also all for Rusev defeating Ryback at the PPV. To me, Rusev is the performer that deserves the push, not Ryback. I’m sure I’m wrong, though.

Alberto Del Rio 1So now Alberto Del Rio‘s alliance with Zeb Colter is over. I mean, it wasn’t working so I guess you might as well get out now…but it just seemed so odd to begin with. Within one week…there was ZERO talk about Mex-America and ZERO talk about what brought them together in the first place. Do I want to see Colter back with Jack Swagger? Hey…it certainly can’t hurt HIS mid-card placement. And let’s be honest…Del Rio doesn’t need anybody to help him at this point. The split just seemed forced…but again, I guess it’s all good at the end of the day.

Roman Reigns 2Nothing else on the show really had me even remotely interested. The Roman Reigns vs Sheamus segment at the end of the show dragged on way too long before the fight finally took place. Even then…I wasn’t overly excited about everything. I mean, props to Reigns for getting “tator tots” over as a chant…but the ONLY way I believe that Sheamus can beat Reigns is if his partners in the League of Nations helps him win. So for me, Reigns should have destroyed Sheamus and then gotten jumped by Barrett, Rusev, and Del Rio. THEN maybe I’d feel as though Sheamus could beat Reigns. I just don’t buy the booking of this angle at all, nor do I buy Sheamus as WWE champion…at all.

To me, last night was yet another lackluster show and a poor way to “go home” to this weekend’s TLC event. I don’t know what WWE needs to do specifically, but I don’t know how much more I can continue this “paint-by-numbers” approach to their program. If they don’t care enough to do something interesting with the product, then why should I care?
